We are so excited to announce the refresh of the Strength Deployment Inventory® (SDI®) facilitator certification course! As we add this powerful assessment to the Crucial Learning product offerings, we have rebranded and refreshed this certification experience. We’ve lifted this course to provide a more streamlined and approachable experience for certified facilitators and those they guide through in SDI conversations.
But what does it mean to be certified in an assessment? Becoming certified in the SDI focuses on understanding the assessment and its insights to help guide learners through their results and apply them to their day-to-day life. Unlike a course certification, an assessment certification does not include curriculum or a structured course to train. Rather, as a certified facilitator, you will lead discussions—for groups and/or individuals—to unpack SDI results and applicable insights.
Here are some key learning moments you can expect from the certification experience.
Understanding your personal SDI results. The experience starts with your personal exploration and discovery through the SDI. Like with other certifications, we want you to have your own experience as a learner first. The certification experience will begin with an example of a group discussion to guide you through your SDI results. Here you will get a better understanding of your motives, how you experience conflict, your strengths, and how those strengths can limit your effectiveness when overdone.
Diving deeper into the four views from the SDI. The SDI produces four independent but related views that give a systematic perspective on personality and behavior. The core of the certification course will focus on going deeper into each of these four views to build understanding and confidence to facilitate meaningful discussions.
Intentional practice. We know as learning professionals that true learning takes practice. The SDI certification course focuses on providing key moments of experiential learning to build the muscle memory needed to become a certified facilitator. You can expect moments of practice in exploring results in a one-to-one setting, leading a group discussion, answering SDI questions, and more.
The SDI is a powerful tool that can be applied across many learning initiatives to leverage real relational change. When it comes to working effectively with others, and in moments where we need to bring our best self to the work at hand, the SDI provides self-awareness, appreciation for others, and actionable insights to change the course of working relationships.
